Our Certifications

Anyone can claim to do good work. We back it up.

Every certification on this page is current, registered to Extreme Carpet Cleaning LLC, and verifiable on the issuing organization’s public registry. WoolSafe. CleanSeal. The IICRC. The three bodies that actually set the standards for professional carpet care and restoration in North America.

If you’re hiring a carpet cleaner in Cockeysville or anywhere in Baltimore County, this is the part most companies don’t show you. Here’s ours.

IICRC Certified Firm

IICRC Certified Firm

Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification

The company-level IICRC certification. Awarded to firms that pledge to follow published industry standards, train their technicians on current best practices, and conduct business with honesty and consumer protection at the front. Renewed annually.

Being a Certified Firm means the company itself, not just a couple of certified technicians, is accountable to a national standards body. That accountability is also why we can confidently back every job with our 150% money-back guarantee.

IICRC Certified Technician (Shawn P. Mullikin)

IICRC Certified Technician

Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification

Active IICRC registrant in good standing across 15 individual certification areas. The full list includes Carpet Cleaning, Rug Cleaning, Water Damage Restoration, Fire & Smoke Damage Restoration, Odor Control, Applied Microbial Remediation, Upholstery & Fabric Cleaning, Carpet Repair & Reinstallation, Color Repair, Trauma & Crime Scene, Commercial Carpet Maintenance, Health & Safety, Journeyman Water Restorer, Master Textile Cleaner, and Master Fire & Smoke Restorer.

The two Master designations at the end (Master Textile Cleaner and Master Fire & Smoke Restorer) require multiple individual certifications plus years of documented field experience. They’re held by a small percentage of cleaners nationwide.

WoolSafe & CleanSeal Approved Service Provider

WoolSafe & CleanSeal Approved Service Provider

The WoolSafe Organisation

Recognizes that our company meets WoolSafe and CleanSeal qualification standards for carpet care. That covers the chemistry we use, the equipment we run, and how our technicians actually handle wool, synthetic, and fine-fiber carpets in real Baltimore County homes.

What this means in practice: if you’ve got a wool rug, an Oriental, a viscose runner, or any delicate fiber that the wrong cleaner could ruin, our products and process are tested and approved for the work.

WoolSafe & CleanSeal Approved Fibre Care Specialist

WoolSafe & CleanSeal Approved Fibre Care Specialist

The WoolSafe Organisation

The individual-level credential. Confirms that our owner Shawn Mullikin personally completed WoolSafe Fibre Care Specialist training and testing in fiber identification, wool care, and the chemistry of cleaning delicate textiles.

Most carpet cleaners can’t tell wool from viscose by touch. Wrong identification leads to shrinkage, color migration, or fiber damage that can’t be reversed. This certification means the person handling your rugs has been tested on exactly that.
